Students taking the Diploma in Mass Communication learn to become professionals who are able to apply media and communication knowledge and practical skills in roles within various media-related industries, such as journalism, public relations, advertising, and broadcasting.
The Diploma in Mass Communication programme includes modules that train students to master essential skills such as handling radio and television equipment. They will also get involved in content production processes such as directing, scripting, and video editing. By mastering these skills, our students are equipped to take on a wide range of roles in radio, TV, and other media platforms.
Taking into account the latest trends and technological advancements in the global communications industry, students must be equipped with a solid foundation in mass communication theories. They are taught to critically examine the function of mass communication in society.
A student who graduates with a Diploma in Mass Communication will have the foundation required for a wide range of careers as a media practitioner, competent leader, and creative specialist.
1 | A pass in SPM or its equivalent with at least credit in 3 subjects including English; OR |
2 | A pass in STPM or its equivalent with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any subject, and credit in English at SPM level or its equivalent; OR |
3 | A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least Grade Maqbul and credit in English at SPM level or its equivalent; OR |
4 | A pass in SKM Level 3 and a pass in SPM with credit in English; OR |
5 | A pass in certificate (Level 3, MQF) or its equivalent and a pass in SPM with credit in English; OR |
6 | A pass in Certificate in Media and Communication (Level 3, MQF) or its equivalent and with at least CGPA 2.00; OR |
7 | A pass in UEC with at least Grade B in any 3 subjects including English; OR |
8 | Other related equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia. |
