Course Description

Diploma programs have been very popular among school leavers seeking career paths that will prepare them for job markets upon graduation as well as those planning to continue for degrees after gaining work experience.

The Diploma in Civil Engineering at MIU is a 2½ year program where students will complete a total of 93 credit hours inclusive of lectures, tutorials, group projects, assignments, labs and industrial training. The program prepares students to be industry ready. 

This program will produce qualified and trained Civil Engineering technicians and technical assistants who are not only well-equipped to face the challenges of the rapidly evolving business arena of the new millennium, but also possess the highest level of integrity, discipline and professionalism.

Entry Requirements
  • Pass SPM (or equivalent) with credits in at least 3 subjects including Mathematics and 1 Science / Technical / Vocational subject with a pass in English, or
  • Pass STPM (or equivalent) with a pass in Mathematics, English, and 1 Science / Technical / Vocational subject at SPM level, or
  • Possess Engineering / Technology certificate (Level 3 KKM) accredited by MQA (or equivalent) with minimum 2.0 CGPA, or
  • Pass Technical / Skills certificate (Level 3 KKM) accredited by MQA (or equivalent) with minimum 2.0 CGPA with at least 1 Credit at SPM level and have gone through 1 year working experience in the relevant field or a bridging programme for 1 semester, or
  • Other equivalent qualifications as recognized by the Malaysian Government and
  • English Language Requirement.
