Course Description

Bachelor of Education (Hons) - (TESL) is geared towards producing teachers of English for secondary schools. The programme starts with key courses in language proficiency, linguistics and education. These courses allow students to develop a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching English. The MSU-BTESL programme differs from other TESL programme in the country because we emphasize the acquisition of soft skills such as using ICT, communication skills, public speaking, developing leadership skills, developing critical thinking and problem solving. It is these soft-skills that allow 95% of MSU graduates, on average, to get a job within six months of finishing their course.
