Course Description

The Bachelor in Food Service Technology (Hons) programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding on the theoretical and applied aspects of food service technology. The main objective of the programme is to prepare students in terms of knowledge and skills in food service technology and produce innovative and confident manpower. The programme also exposes the students to monitoring techniques and positive approaches towards successful business operations in relation to food services.

Entry Requirements

(i) STPM Candidate :

(a) Pass SPM or its equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu and a pass in General Science or Additional Science or Biology/Chemistry/Physics and

(b) Pass STPM or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C in 2 subjects including Pengajian Am/Kertas Am (General Studies/General Paper) or at least 2.00 CGPA;


(ii) Pass Ministry of Education Matriculation or MSU Foundation, or its equivalent from any higher learning institution;


(iii) Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in relevant field from any provider of higher education;


(iv) Pass at least 3 subjects in A-Level;


(v) Pass The South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with minimum score of 65% - 75%;


(vi) Pass Canadian Pre University Programme (CPU) with minimum score of 80%;


(vii) Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least grade B in 5 subjects;


(viii) Other equivalent qualification recognised by the Ma

Career Prospects

Graduates of Bachelor in Food Service Technology (Hons) may hold position as Food Manufacturing Officer, Kitchen/Menu Planner, Operation Executive, Quality Control Officer, Food Technologist, Quality Assurance Officer and Fast Food Restaurant Manager. In addition, the graduates can also apply for jobs in hotel, airline or tourism industry.
