Many assume that teaching English is “easy” but in reality, to be good, one must understand not only the pedagogical but also the psychological theories related to the development of children. Management and Science University's education diploma in the Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL) provides such an understanding. Our blended curriculum of language proficiency, pedagogy, and psychology will furnish you with the theoretical and practical skills needed for a career in education and TESL. The 14 week practicum in a primary school towards the end of your studies completes your training.

You need to pass SPM/SPMV or equivalent, obtaining a Credit in any three (3) subjects (priority will be given to a Credit in English Language); or obtain a Certificate from Polytechnic, IPTA, or accredited IPTS; or pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), obtaining at least a B in three (3) subjects; or present other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.

Graduates will be qualified for position as English Teacher at primary school or preschool in the country. They will also have the opportunity to start their own home-based teaching business or become professional educator, curriculum designer, trainer, managerial officer or executive in any public or private educational and training institutions. Graduates who wish to advance their skills and knowledge towards higher qualification, this programme will lead to:-
