Course Description

The Diploma in Multimedia provides you with knowledge and skills relating to computer, IT, graphics, audio, video, animation and web. This programme aims to provide both a broad and comprehensive approach to digital media. It introduces students to the relevant theory, technology, techniques and tools, and emphasises outcomes.

Students will have the opportunity to design and develop effective multimedia systems using new and established techniques and software tools. A strong emphasis will be placed on students gaining the necessary skills to develop cutting edge multimedia applications or design for delivery on both CD-ROM and the Internet. The emphasis of the programme is not solely on multimedia skills, but also on personal and business skills that enable the student to become an effective communicator, team player and a valued employee.

Entry Requirements

(i) Pass SPM or SPMV with 3 credits including Science and Mathematics; 

OR

(ii) Science Computer Certificate from PTPL with at least a pass in all of the subjects; 

OR

(iii) Polytechnic, IPTA or IPTS Certificate with accreditation or its equivalent recognised by KUTPM (MSU) Senate; 

OR

(iv) Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least grade B in 3 subjects; 

OR

(v) Other equivalent qualification recognised by Malaysian Government

There is a global need for personnel in Multimedia sectors. Graduates may embark into a career as Multimedia Designer, Webmaster, Interface Designer, Props Designer & Animator, Web Designer, Art Director, Post Production Artist / Designer, Video Production Team, Animator, Photographer, Digital Illustrator and etc. Students may also choose to continue their education and gain advanced standing into any one of the degree programmes offered in Malaysia.
