The Bachelor in Creative Multimedia (Hons) (BCM) is an undergraduate academic programme that specialises in the design of multimedia content. This programme combines content development technology andmultimedia programming. It focuses more towards ‘multimedia computing’ or ‘interactive multimedia’, and emphasises on practical problem solving in multidiscipline using current and emerging technologies. Students will be equipped with strong knowledge in authoring process and creative media production. They will deal with the integrated collections of computer based media including (but not limited to) text, graphics, sound, animation, photo images and video.
(i) STPM Candidate :
(a) Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM/SPMV) or its equivalent with credit in Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Melayu (Silibus X) Bahasa Malaysia II and at least a pass in Mathematics
(ii) Ministry of Education (KPM) Matriculation Certificate or MSU Foundation Certificate, or Foundation Certificate or its equivalent from higher learning institution with 2.0 CGPA or
(iii) Diploma from PTPL/MSU, or Certificate/Diploma from Polytechnic, IPTA or IPTS which is recognised by Ministry of Higher Education (KPTM) and accreditated by MQA with minimum 2.5 CGPA;
(iv) Pass at least 3 subjects in A-Level;
(v) Pass The South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with minimum score of 65% - 70%;
(vi) Pass Canadian Pre University Programme (CPU) with minimum score of 80%;
(vii) Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least grade B in 5 subjects;
(viii) other equivalent qualification recognised by Malaysian Government
Graduates of Creative Multimedia will find rewarding career opportunities and prospects in one of four broadly-defined sectors which are multimedia and internet technology, corporate communications and management, educational and government institutions and arts/culture/entertainment industries. Graduates may pursue a career as Multimedia Designer, Interface Designer, Webmaster, Web/HTML Designer, Active Server Page Developer, Corporate Communications and Management Executive, IT Project Manager, Technical Writer, Information Architect, Usability Consultant, Marketing Manager, Brand Manager, User Support Specialist, IT Instructor, Learning Consultant, Instructional Designer, Distance Education Specialist, Arts/Culture/Entertainment Executive, Art/Creative Director, Graphic Designer, 2D or 3D Animator, Video Editor/Producer and many more.
