The BEng (Hons) Software Engineering Top-Up degree is delivered online by Western International College Online (WINC) and provides progression from NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Computing.
This final year top-up degree is awarded by the University of Greater Manchester.

The programme aims to build upon the Computing and Software Engineering knowledge gained at Level 4 and 5 and enhance students’ professional skills, preparing them for the workplace. It also provides students with the opportunity to develop specialist and advanced IT skills.
The programme has been designed collaboratively with industrial partners to ensure that students study a comprehensive programme of relevant industrial topics. The syllabus has an emphasis on real-world experience, informed by the latest research and global practices.
Coursework throughout the course utilises realistic scenarios intended to prepare students for their career after university. This applies both to the technical areas studied and the output required from the student, such as technical proposals or reports to management.
A large amount of the coursework undertaken by students on this course is project-based and involves group working. The ability to work successfully and productively in teams is an essential element of modern software engineering.
The programme enables students to develop skills such as advanced IT skills, analytical skills, communication, project management and organisation, which are essential for the workplace.
