Course Description

Journalism is one of the most challenging yet one of the most rewarding and inspiring professions out there today. The ever increasing demand for up-to-date, comprehensive, informative news and highlights has pushed the boundaries of journalism. Our degree programme aims to groom passionate and aspiring journalists to not only fit in with the needs of the market but to stay one step ahead of the competition.

Our degree programme is planned to ensure that students pursuing this course are exposed to not only the basics of journalism in mass media but also teach students how to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge in real world situations. Upon completion of the programme, students have the luxury to branch out into various mediums of mass communication including radio, television, Internet and many more.

Our degree programme blends together a variety of instructional methodology to facilitate learning for all students. We also offer students an interactive and interesting learning experience to stimulate students and to further deepen their passion for this field.

Assessment:
Student’s ability is gauged both through continuous assessments and final exam. The continuous assessment component comprises tests/quizzes, mid-term examination and projects/assignments which accounts for an allocation of about 40-50% depending on the course. The balance of the mark is allocated for the final examination.

 

Entry Requirements

Pass A-Level programme or equivalent qualification with minimum Grade D in 2 subjects and a pass in English language subject at O level
