Course Description | Dentistry is a highly respected professional career which demands high standards of care and skill, as well as an aptitude for dealing with people. The practice of dentistry is defined as the branch of medicine which is concerned with the study, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth, jaws and mouth. The SEGi University Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a five-year program that aims to produce competent, caring and knowledgeable dental practitioners. Students are exposed to early patient contact and clinical training, with an emphasis on the recognition and prevention of oral diseases. The dynamic curriculum is delivered within a problem-based learning approach, with an emphasis on contextual learning of relevant scientific information and also ensuring the curriculum reflects the way in which students will be expected to identify and address clinical problems, placing a higher emphasis on delivery through engagement with the students. | ||||||||
