Course Description

This programme provides a wide spectrum of knowledge and skills required for a career in the accountancy and finance profession. The curriculum covers key areas such as financial accounting & reporting, management accounting & control, accounting information systems, audit & assurance, public sector accounting, taxation, corporate governance, and professional values & ethics.

It is designed to:

  1. Produce responsible and competent graduates who possess strong professional ethical values and positive attitude expected of professionally qualified accountants.
  2. Produce graduates with the requisite knowledge, practical skills and attributes to pursue a career in the accountancy and finance profession.
  3. Equip graduates with managerial and entrepreneurial skills that will prepare them for both employment and self-employment.
  4. Provide students with an educational experience that motivates them to pursue higher level of study and lifelong learning.

Graduates can claim exemptions from the following:

  • ACCA: All 9 papers of ACCA Fundamentals
  • CIMA: 11 out of 16 papers of CIMA
  • ICAEW: 8 out of 15 papers of the ACA examination
  • CPA Australia: All 6 CPA Foundation Exams
  • MICPA: 4 out of 9 papers of MICPA

Compulsory Courses:
English Language, Tamadun Islam dan Asia, English for Communication, English for Management, Critical Thinking/ Hubungan Etnik, Moral dan Etika/ Pengajian Islam and Co-curricular.

 

Entry Requirements
  1. STPM - Minimum Grade C+ in 2 relevant subjects
  2. A Level - Minimum Grade D in 2 relevant subjects
  3. SAM - ATAR 70 and minimum Grade B in 2 relevant subjects
  4. UEC - Grade B in 5 relevant subjects
  5. TAR UC - Foundation in Accounting with minimum CGPA 2.5000 OR Relevant Diploma with minimum CGPA 2.5000
  6. Other IHL - Relevant Foundation (with minimum CGPA 2.5000)/ Diploma (with minimum CGPA 2.5000) accredited by MQA

Compulsory subjects:
(1), (2), (3) and (4) must include -

  • SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C in Mathematics/ UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject
  • SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in English Language*

(1) - (6) must include MUET Band 2 or replaced with IELTS Band Score 5.5 or TOEFL Score 550^

*Grade B and above in AELE0364 English Language conducted by TAR UC is accepted as having fulfilled the English Language requirement for applicants with a pass in SPM English Language/Grade D or Grade E (Pass) in O Level English Language/ Grade C in UEC English Language.

^Exempted for students whose programme full medium of instruction is in English.
