Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM)

Graduates are exempted from Module 3 Investment Planning and Retirement Planning of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification programme.

Master of Investment Management

Graduates of this programme will be granted exemptions for 3 out of 4 modules of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification programme.

Graduates get full accreditation of Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA).

Course Description

This programme aims to produce graduates who are equipped with the knowledge and core competencies and dispositions necessary for pursuing a demanding career in the highly competitive domestic and international banking and finance industry.

It is designed to:

  1. Produce graduates who are equipped with the requisite knowledge and essential skills to pursue a demanding career in the banking and finance industry.
  2. Produce graduates who possess cognitive skills and soft skills required for managing complex operational and strategic situations in the banking and finance industry.
  3. Provide students with an educational experience that develops their innovative skills conducive to lifelong learning and personal development planning.

Graduates can claim exemption from:

  • FPAM: Module 3 Investment Planning and Retirement Planning of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification programme (1 out of 4 papers exempted)

The programme is also granted full accreditation by Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA).

Entry Requirements
  1. STPM - Minimum Grade C+ in 2 relevant subjects
  2. A Level - Minimum Grade D in 2 relevant subjects
  3. UEC - Grade B in 5 relevant subjects
  4. TAR UC - Foundation in Business with minimum CGPA 2.5000 OR Relevant Diploma with minimum CGPA 2.5000
  5. Other IHL - Relevant Foundation (with minimum CGPA 2.5000)/ Diploma (with minimum CGPA 2.5000) accredited by MQA

Compulsory subjects:

(1), (2), (3) and (5) must include -

  1. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C in Mathematics/ UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject
  2. SPM Pass/O Level Grade E (Pass)/UEC Grade C in English Language


  1. Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Bachelor Degree. ( added, missing info below)
  2. TAR UC Diploma will be accepted on credit transfer into Bachelor Degree programmes.
  3. Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  4. Subject to the Ministry of Higher Education latest requirements.
