Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM)

Graduates are exempted from Module 3 Investment Planning and Retirement Planning of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification programme.

Master of Investment Management

Graduates of this programme will be granted exemptions for 3 out of 4 modules of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification programme.

Graduates get full accreditation of Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA).

Course Description

The programme aims to produce competitive graduates with intellectual, creative & cognitive skills and with strong technical knowledge in finance and investment necessary to support the ever changing and growing financial services industry.

It is designed to:

  1. Equip students with the requisite knowledge and essential skills to pursue a demanding career in the increasingly complex financial services industry.
  2. Provide students the opportunities to develop cognitive skills and soft skills required for managing complex finance and investment issues.
  3. Provide students with an educational experience that develops their innovative skills conducive to lifelong learning and personal development.

Graduates can claim exemption from:

  • FPAM: Module 3 Investment Planning and Retirement Planning of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification programme (1 out of 4 papers exempted)

The programme is also granted full accreditation by Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA).

Entry Requirements
  1. STPM - Minimum Grade C+ in 2 relevant subjects
  2. A Level - Minimum Grade D in 2 relevant subjects
  3. SAM - ATAR 70 and minimum Grade B in 2 relevant subjects
  4. UEC - Grade B in 5 relevant subjects
  5. TAR UC - Foundation in Business with minimum CGPA 2.5000 OR Relevant Diploma with minimum CGPA 2.5000
  6. Other IHL - Relevant Foundation (with minimum CGPA 2.5000)/ Diploma (with minimum CGPA 2.5000) accredited by MQA

Compulsory subjects:
(1), (2), (3) and (4) must include -

  1. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C in Mathematics/ UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject
  2. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in English Language*

*Grade B and above in AELE0364 English Language conducted by TAR UC is accepted as having fulfilled the English Language requirement for applicants with a pass in SPM English Language/Grade D or Grade E (Pass) in O Level English Language/ Grade C in UEC English Language.

Note:
SPM holders must have at least a pass in Bahasa Melayu and SPM holders from Year 2013 onwards must have a t least a past in Sejarah.
