Course Description

This programme caters for students who wish to develop a successful career in the journalism and media industry. With industry driven content, the programme offers a teaching and experiential learning experience that prepares students with enhanced and progressive skills for professional media reporting.     Language, Mata Pelajaran Pengajian Umum (MPU) and Co-curricular Courses:

    • English for Tertiary Studies, Academic English, English for Career Preparation, Tamadun Islam dan Asia,  Contemporary Malaysian Issues, Hubungan Etnik, Critical Thinking or MPU-3213 Bahasa Kebangsaan A, Co-curricular 

      Year One Intake: Co-Curricular Course must be taken in Year 1, Semester 3

    *Co-Curricular Courses can be taken in any semester of the study

            Diploma Promoted Year 2 Intake: Co-Curricular Course  must be taken in Year 3,  Semester 1

    *MPU-3213 Bahasa Kebangsaan A is applicable to students without credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu only

Entry Requirements

(1) STPM - Grade C in 2 relevant subjects

(2) A Level - Grade D in 2 relevant subjects

(3) UEC - Grade B in 5 relevant subjects

(4) Other IHL - Relevant Foundation/ Diploma accredited by MQA

(5) TAR UC - Foundation in Arts (Track C) or Relevant Diploma Compulsory subject:

(1), (2), (3) and (4) must include SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in English Language

Note:

a) Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Bachelor Degree.

b) TAR UC Diploma will be accepted on credit transfer into Bachelor Degree programmes.

c) Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

d) Subject to the Ministry of Higher Education latest requirements.
