Course Overview

This programme is one of the few construction management programmes being offered in Malaysia. It is designed to provide essential knowledge and skills in the discipline of construction management and property development in the construction industry. This programme focuses on planning, co-ordination and control of the construction project from inception till completion stage as well as the entire property development phases.  Students are equipped with essential building technology knowledge, construction health and safety knowledge, procurement strategies, contract administration and project management skills. Students are also trained in the theory and software application in project planning, programming and production. In line with our national initiatives in construction digitalisation, students will be trained to utilise Building Information Modelling (BIM) software for managing construction process more effectively to improve productivity. This programme equips students with essential skill sets for construction management and property development. It also provides effective pathway for students to further their studies at postgraduate level in the area of construction project management, construction contract management and other related discipline.

Entry Requirements

  1. STPM - Grade C in 2 relevant subjects listed in Schedule A
  2. A Level - Grade D in 2 relevant subjects listed in Schedule A
  3. UEC - Grade B in 5 relevant subjects listed in Schedule A
  4. TAR UMT - Foundation in Arts (Track A) OR Relevant Diploma
  5. Other IHL- Relevant Foundation /Diploma accredited by MQA

Compulsory subjects:

  1. (1); (2); (3) and (5) must include SPM Pass/O Level Grade E/UEC Grade C in English Language.*
  2. (1); (2); (3) and (5) must include SPM Credit/O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject.#

*Grade C and aobe in AELE0364 English Language conducted by TAR UMT is accepted as having fulfilled the English Language requirement for applicants who fail English Language at SPM/O Level/UEC.

#Grade B and above in AMMS0104 General Mathematics conducted by TAR UMT is accepted as having fulfilled the Mathematics requirement for applicants with a pass in SPM/Grade D or Grade E (pass) in O Level/Grade C in UEC in the required Mathematics subject.

Note:

  1. Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Bachelor Degree.
  2. TAR UMT Diploma will be accepted on credit transfer into Bachelor Degree programmes.
  3. Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  4. Subject to the Ministry of Education latest requirements.
