Course Overview

This undergraduate Psychology degree programme aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge within basic and applied psychology. The programme will develop critical thinking, analytical and practical skills in students to approach problems that are related to human behaviour and mental processes. The programme also aims to develop effective communication and interpersonal skills to allow students to pursue lifelong learning. During the course of study, students should be able to apply appropriate technology to support their study and research. Upon graduation, students should be familiar with the contemporary issues that are related to psychology field and are equipped with the capability to lead, act responsibly and ethically within varied social and professional environment. Besides, students are well-prepared to further specialisation at the postgraduate level.

Entry Requirements

  1. STPM - Grade C in 2 relevant subjects
  2. A Level - Grade D in 2 relevant subjects
  3. UEC - Grade B in 5 relevant subjects
  4. TAR UMT - Foundation in Arts (Track B) OR Relevant Diploma
  5. Other IHL - Relevant Foundation/ Diploma accredited by MQA

Compulsory subjects:

(1); (2); (3) ;(4) and (5) must include -

  1. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject
  2. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in one science subject
  3. SPM Pass/ O Level Grade E (Pass)/ UEC Grade C in English Language

Note:

  1. Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Bachelor Degree.
  2. TAR UMT Diploma will be accepted on credit transfer into Bachelor Degree programmes.
  3. Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  4. Subject to the Ministry of Education latest requirements.
