Course Overview

The Foundation in Arts programme is a full-time threesemester intensive foundation course. It encompasses a comprehensive, ?exible and dynamic curriculum where courses are specially packaged to enable students to pursue their speci?c career pathway such as Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Logistics, Actuarial Science, Mass Communication and Psychology in UCSI University. This programme is tailored for students who are con?dent of their chosen path of studies and are committed to attaining the best preparation for a university degree programme at UCSI University.

Assessments

Integrating both coursework and written examinations, this programme incorporates a practice-oriented approach and furnishes students with relevant interesting, stimulating and hands-on experience via a variety of teaching methods and practical exercises. Different dynamic learning processes are employed in the delivery of this programme including lectures, tutorials, computer lab work, team-based projects, real-life system developments, presentations and independent projects, to name a few, supervised by both university lecturers and industry experts alike.

Entry Requirements

Foundation in Science (For Non-Medicine / Non Pharmacy) SPM / O-Levels 5 credits inclusive of Mathematics and 1 pure science subject UEC 3 credits inclusive of Mathematics and 1 pure science subject Other qualifications deemed equivalent to SPM/O-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency Overall average of 60% inclusive of Mathematics and 2 pure science subjects Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency Overall average of 50% inclusive of Mathematics and 2 pure science subjects Foundation in Science (For entry into Medicine / Pharmacy) SPM 5 credits with Bs for Mathematics/Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and one more subject (Pharmacy programme – SPM: Bahasa Malaysia & English – Minimum C is required) Other qualifications deemed equivalent to SPM/O-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency Overall average of 65% (including individual scores of 65% in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics) Foundation in Science (For Entry into Architecture) SPM 5 credits inclusive of Mathematics UEC 3 credits inclusive of Mathematics *Subject to acceptance by professional bodies (Malaysian Medical Council and Malaysian Pharmacy Board)
