Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Course Overview

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme is offered full time base with a duration 3 years and has been recognized and accredited by the Malaysian Government and also by the private sector. With 100 credit hours, spanning over the course of 6 semesters, this programme cater to the various needs in thek engineering field. This programme has been thoroughly conducted to ensure graduate employability. For this purpose, four elective modules are offered for this programme. The electives are based on various engineering industry, focusing on engineering technology (Mechanical related), manufacturing, automotive and aerospace industry. Graduate who have completed this programme can work in the public or private sector as a technologist, technician or production line supervisor (foreman).

Entry Requirements

SPM Candidates

Pass SPM or equivalent certificates that are recognized by the Malaysian Government with minimum FIVE (5) credits including Bahasa Melayu. Satisfy the University general entry requirements and minimum credits for these subjects:

1. Mathematics
2. Additional Mathematics
3. Physics

Polytechnics/IKM/other institutions Certificate candidates

Pass Polytechnic Certificate or other equivalent institution recognized by the Malaysian Government with grades B and above for Mathematics and Engineering Science with minimum credits for these subjects:

1. Mathematics
2. Additional Mathematics
3. Physics

Career Prospects

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering graduates are qualified to work as Assistant Engineers or Technicians in many engineering industries that involves machineries such as manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and even oil and gas industry.
