Program ini mula ditawarkan pada tahun 1985. Kurikulum program ini digubal setelah mengambilkira ciri-ciri penting dalam pembentukan graduan yang sesuai dengan kehendak profesion perakaunan dan kehendak pelbagai sektor. Ini termasuklah sektor perniagaan, perbankan dan perkhidmatan awam.
Minimum Requirement for STPM (Higher Certificate of Education [HSE]) Candidate
i) Pass SPM (Malaysian Certificate of Education [MCE])/equivalent;
ii) Pass Bahasa Melayu/Malaysian Language with distinction in SPM/equivalent;
iii) Pass STPM with at least:
- Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in General Studies/General Paper courses; and
- Grade C (CGPA 2.00in two (2) other courses; and
iv) Must have taken Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
Minimum Requirement for Malaysian Ministry of Education Matriculation (KPM)/ UM Science Matriculation/ UTM Basic Year
i) Pass SPM/equivalent;
ii) Pass Bahasa Melayu/Malaysian Language with distinction in SPM/equivalent;
iii) Pass KPM (Matriculation of Education) Matriculation / UM Matriculation/ UTM Basic Year with CGPA 2.00; and
iv) Must have taken Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
Minimum Requirement for Equivalent Candidate
i) Pass SPM/equivalent;
ii) Pass Bahasa Melayu/Malaysian Language with distinction in SPM/equivalent;
iii) Have other qualification that has been equivalently accepted by Malaysian Government and approved by the
University Senate; and
iv) Must have taken Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
Peluang pekerjaan bagi graduan perakaunan merangkumi pelbagai bidang :
• Bidang profesional, sebagai akauntan bertauliah, juruaudit, penasihat percukaian, perunding pengurusan, setiausaha syarikat dan sebagainya.
• Sektor perindustrian dan perdagangan dalam bidang kewangan perbadanan, perbankan dan institusi kewangan lain yang memerlukan kepakaran perakaunan dan kewangan
• Sektor awam dijabatan kerajaan dan badan berkanun.
