Course Overview

The objective of this program is to train students in forestry. Graduates from this program are equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage forest resources, the timber industry and recreational resources as well as efficient tourism based on the principles of sustainable forest management. The duration of study of the Forest Science Bachelor's program is four (4) years (8 semesters). Specifically, the program aims to produce the following graduates: 
i. Trained, professional and capable of planning, managing, implementing, and evaluating forest resources and activities in the forestry sector, 
ii. Able to apply the latest technology in the forestry sector, 
iii. Creative and innovative, competitive and responsible for society, culture and environment, and
iv. Able to adapt to the global work environment of learning and research in the forestry sector

Entry Requirements

General University Requirements (For STPM Graduation, Matriculation / Basic and Diploma / equivalent)

  1. Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit in Malay / Bahasa Malaysia July paper; and

  2. Pass the KPM / UM Science Foundation / UiTM Foundation / UPM Agricultural Science Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; and
  3. Earned at least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET);


Special Program Requirements (STPM Release
 )

i. Obtained at least a Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in one (1) of the following subjects:

a. Biology;

b. Chemistry;

c. Physics;

d. Mathematics (T);

Dan

ii.    Earned at least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

Special Program Requirements (Matriculation / Basic Release )

i. Must have at least a Grade C (2.00) in Matriculation / Basic at one (1) of the following subjects:

a. Biology;

b. Chemistry;

c. Physics;

d. Mathematics;

ii. Earned at least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

iii.    Postgraduate Agricultural Science Foundation UPM got CGPA of at least 2.00.

Special Program Requirements (Diploma / equivalent)

i. Obtain a Diploma in the appropriate field or other qualification recognized by the UPM Senate.
