The programme focuses on construction technology, measurement and estimation, contract administration, construction project management and computer applications in construction.
Students are introduced to current technologies, professional skills and industry best practices through assignments and final-year projects. Areas covered include building information modelling, surveying, value engineering, project management and contract administration.
Industry exposure is provided through site visits and talks by industry professionals. The programme's Built Environment Society also organises Green Card seminars related to the Construction Industry Development Board's safety and health certification, helping prepare students for industrial training.
UTAR also collaborates with the University of Kitakyushu and Shibaura Institute of Technology through research and student exchange activities. These exchanges allow students to share knowledge, experience other institutions and develop a deeper understanding of different cultures.
