Course Description

The Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) aims to produce competent, dedicated and industry-relevant accountants/auditors/financial specialist who are innovative and motivated to achieve excellent in their discipline, cultivate the traits of professional and discipline, and imbue in the graduates with high moral and ethical standards to enable them to meet the challenges of globalisation.

The degree also places on the development of students' personal attributes, professional skills and characteristics of being an all-rounder with holistic outlook that is required by the business community. All these knowledge, skills and capabilities should enable to graduates to be better positioned to meet the current and future needs of the business and public sectors.

UTAR's Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) has been officially approved and gazetted by the Ministry of Finance as a recognised qualification under Part I of the First Schedule of the Accountants' Act, 1967. Graduates of this programme may apply for MIA membership as a Chartered Account (C.A.) upon obtaining 3 years relevant experience.

  • The quality of Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) is set at the highest level and is continuosly updated in line with the requirement and expectation of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), International Accounting Standards Boards (IASB), Malaysian Accounting Standard Board (MASB) and other professional accounting bodies.
  • Apart from emphasizing on accounting, auditing and taxation, programme goes beyond to students with knowledge and expertise in finance, business administration and other useful related services/professions.
  • A compulsory of 6-month industrial training at the Year 3 of Bachelor of Accounting (Hons).
  • UTAR's Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) has been officially approved and gazetted by the Ministry of Finance as a recognised qualification undert Part I of the First Schedule of the Accountants's Act, 1967.
