Entrepreneurship involves identifying opportunities and planning, organising, financing and managing new ventures, products or services. Entrepreneurs combine business knowledge with initiative, communication and decision-making skills to turn ideas into sustainable enterprises.
The Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Entrepreneurship develops general business knowledge alongside practical entrepreneurial skills. Students learn about the entrepreneurial process, business plan preparation, negotiation techniques and public policies related to the development of new ventures.
Students may also gain experiential learning through entrepreneurship programmes offered by UTAR's Unovate Centre. The UTAR Young Entrepreneurship Start-up Scheme provides seed-funding opportunities that may support eligible students with product development and market research.
