The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Logistics and International Shipping prepares students to analyse and solve operational challenges in logistics, transportation and shipping.
Logistics has become an important strategic function across industries because transportation and supply chain costs form a significant part of an organisation's total expenditure. Effective logistics management can improve responsiveness, supplier reliability, lead times, just-in-time delivery and value-added services while reducing operating costs.
The programme develops knowledge and practical capabilities in logistics operations, shipping, supply chains, transportation, warehousing and procurement. Students are also required to complete an industrial placement in a manufacturing or service organisation. This experience supports their final-year project and helps improve their future employability.
