Embedded systems are specialised computers and related components built into products used in everyday life, including washing machines, cars, factory automation equipment, security systems, smartphones and satellites. Developments in embedded systems also support emerging areas such as ubiquitous computing and the Internet of Things.
The Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) (Computer Engineering) prepares students to use software design tools for developing electronic circuits and systems. The programme focuses on embedded systems design and computing, combining hardware and software within integrated technological solutions.
Students develop knowledge and design skills in areas such as digital signal and image processing, intelligent systems and networking.
Formerly known as Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) Computer Engineering.
