Dietitians are trained healthcare professionals who help manage diseases through appropriate dietary therapy. They also contribute to disease prevention through health promotion and nutrition education.
Dietitians work with other healthcare professionals in clinics, government and private hospitals, community settings and food service organisations. Their role includes supporting individuals with different health conditions through evidence-based nutritional care.
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Dietetics is a four-year programme comprising 12 trimesters. It covers biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, human nutrition, food preparation, nutrition in disease prevention and treatment, and medical nutrition therapy.
The programme prepares graduates for a broad range of roles in clinical dietetics, community nutrition, public health, food service, education, research and related industries.
