Course Overview

Environmental engineering applies engineering principles to improve and protect the environment, including air, water, land and natural resources. It supports the provision of clean water, air and land, the rehabilitation of polluted sites, and the planning and construction of water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, buildings and industrial infrastructure.

The Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Environmental) with Honours focuses on applying mathematics, physical sciences and engineering knowledge to environmental and societal challenges.

Students develop skills in planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and improving environmental systems. The programme aims to produce graduates who can apply scientific and engineering fundamentals, identify and solve environmental engineering problems, and use a systems approach to design and evaluate operational performance.
