The Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) – 2u2i combines university-based study with extended industry experience. Students spend two years at the university and one year undertaking an industry placement.
During the final year, eligible students work in a real professional environment with participating industry partners. The 12-month placement provides practical training, exposure to workplace culture and opportunities to apply software engineering knowledge in areas such as financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and technology.
The industry mode develops both technical and professional skills, including communication, teamwork, project management and problem-solving. Students may receive a stipend during the industry placement, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
Admission to the 2u2i mode is subject to completing the required core, MPU, elective and MUET requirements, as well as meeting the selection criteria and passing an industry interview. Students who do not meet the requirements will continue under the conventional three-year Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) mode.
