Course Description | The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Architecture is designed to cater for students who wish to pursue the professional career in architecture and practice as Architects in Malaysia. The programme is a 3 years full-time accredited degree qualification recognised by the Board of Architects Malaysia or Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) as Part I of the professional exam. Upon complete of the architecture degree programme, graduates will be able to work as Assistant Architects and/or may continue to pursue their Masters in Architecture at UTAR (fully accredited as LAM Part II exam) so to register as Graduate Architect with the Board of Architects Malaysia. The programme has been designed to provide students with sound knowledge an architectural design and building construction, architectural detailing, transferable skills in presentations and IT, as well as the development of analytical and creative thinking. Students learn about basic design, theory, manual and computer-aided drawing in first year. The second year programme introduces them to small scaled buildings, building science and services, building construction and technology. The third year emphasises on more complex, mid-rise building development, which integrates environmental sciences, structure, building services, construction and theory into the studio projects. | |

Career Prospects | Graduates of architecture degree qualification from UTAR are able to work in a variety of disciplines in the construction industry:
They may pursue continue their Master's degree in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, construction management, uban design, interior design, project management and other related field of study. |
