Manufacturing and Processing

What’s It About ?

Manufacturing and processing is the study of the steps, methods, equipment and technology used to transform raw materials into intermediate or final products.

Manufacturing processes can include casting, moulding, treating (such as heat treating or coating), machining, or reshaping the material. The manufacturing process also includes tests and checks for quality assurance during or after the manufacturing, and planning the production process prior to manufacturing. In addition, you’ll need to develop an understanding of manufacturing rate, cost, quality and flexibility.
