Fields of Study: Transport Services

What’s It About ?

This field is the study of how to operate, navigate and direct road/land transport, ships, aircraft, trains and other forms of transportation.

Road transport involves the study of road motor vehicle operations, driving education programmes and the provision of road transport services. Similarly, aviation courses focus on aircraft operation and maintenance, aviation safety and management, air traffic control, and pilot and cabin crew training.

Those interested in pursuing a maritime education will learn ship operations, shipping and port management, marine surveying, navigation technology, nautical science, maritime law and safety policies, and the transportation of goods by sea. Courses in mail operations typically include learning about postal operations and transit, postal supply chain, network planning and mail systems management. For railway operations, you will learn about concepts and principles of rail operations and safety standards in railway management.

This field of study also includes courses in transportation and logistics management which focus on the efficient transport of people, products or materials.
