IACT College Launches New Communication Degree

IACT College witnessed the launch of its 2nd degree programme with the University of Sunderland, UK on 20 November 2014.  The launch of BA (Hons) Media, Culture and Communication was well-attended by representatives from both the institutions, students and invited guests.  

Ms Chew Sue Ann, Executive Chairman of IACT College opened the ceremony by sharing IACT College’s goal to be a prime mover in developing talents for the Media industry.  IACT College, being a specialist in creative communication sees a strong potential in the degree to equip graduates with both technical knowledge and valuable skills such as presentation or oral skills, critical analysis, written and research skills.  Graduates will gain a competitive edge for employment in the fields of Film, Public Relations, Journalism and Media Production.  She further remarked that the College is making the right move to engage with the University of Sunderland due to its reputation for high quality and standards of its programmes.

Professor Julie Mennell, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), in her speech, voiced her pleasure at seeing the strong growth of the relationship between the University of Sunderland and IACT College.  She expressed that IACT College and the University share similar outlooks insofar that they place their students’ education and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.  She is confident of the ability of IACT College to deliver the franchise programme successfully and maintaining the quality of its provision.

Founded in 1970 by the creative communication industry, IACT College offers degree and diploma programmes in mass communication, media, marketing, advertising, broadcasting, graphic design and creative multimedia. People interested in learning more about the learning environment and programmes that IACT College has to offer can visit during Open Days on 20 and 21 December, and 3 and 4 January.
