Financial Aid is intended to help needy students finance their studies in TAR UC. Financial aid consists of scholarships, grants and study loans.

TAR UC provides a variety of scholarships, grants and study loans, some of which are administered by the Student Financial Aid Unit and others by external organisations. Some types of financial aid offered to students are merit-based, while others will take into consideration certain criteria such as the applicant’s academic performance, family financial background and/or their participation in extra-curricular activities.

The Star Education Fund

The objectives of the Star Education Fund are:

• To provide educational and training opportunities for deserving and needy Malaysian students.
• To play a role in assisting our nation in meeting its manpower needs and to make Vision 2020 a success.
• To act as an umbrella body for the individual educational institution/corporations interested in contributing towards the education of exceptional and needy students.

The scholarship is offered for Diploma, Foundation and Bachelor Degree Programmes.

Value of Award

The scholarship award is a 100% waiver of tuition fee for the whole duration of Diploma / Degree Programmes, subject to scholar’s good academic performance and conduct.

Sin Chew Daily Education Fund

The objectives of the Sin Chew Daily Education Fund are:

• To aid the poor and/or needy students to further their tertiary studies by helping them to obtain Diploma / Degree / programmes offered by participating educational institutions locally or overseas.
• To further enhance Sin Chew Daily’s image as a newspaper with humanity and great sense of social responsibility caring for the poor and/or needy and helping to upgrade the educational level of the community.

At Kolej Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman our aim in contributing to the Sin Chew Daily Education Fund is to assist needy and deserving students in their pursuit of tertiary education.

The scholarship is offered for Diploma, Foundation and Bachelor Degree Programmes.

Value of Award

The scholarship award is a 100% waiver of tuition fee for the whole duration of Diploma / Degree Programmes, subject to scholar’s good academic performance and conduct.

TAR UC-TAA Scholarship

TAR UC - TAA Scholarship is established to provide scholarships to TAR UC registered students or graduates who demonstrate high academic achievements and participation in student activities to pursue their further studies in TAR UC undergraduate or postgraduate programmes.

The scholarship is offered for Diploma, Foundation, Bachelor Degree and Postgraduate Programmes.

Minimum Requirement

1. Have been offered admission into TAR UC’s undergraduate or postgraduate programme, and
2. Must be a Malaysian citizen, and
3. Must be a former TAR UC student who possesses Cambridge GCE A Level or a TAR UC Foundation / Diploma / Bachelor Degree who is graduated with minimum CGPA of 3.5000, and
4. Financial needy, and/or
5. Active participation in extra-curricular activities

Value of Award

University’s Tuition Fees as per the university’s bill for the duration of the programme.

TAR UC-TAA Scholarship (Top Glove)

TAR UC - TAA Scholarship (TOP GLOVE) is established to provide scholarships to TAR UC registered students who demonstrate high academic achievements and participation in student activities to pursue their further studies in TAR UC.

This scholarship is offered for Diploma, Foundation, Bachelor Degree and Postgraduate Programmes.

Minimum Requirement

1. Must be a Malaysian citizen, and
2. Must be a TAR UC Bachelor Degree student with minimum CGPA of 3.5000, and/or
3. Active participation in extra-curricular activities.

Value of Award

University’s tuition fees as per the university’s bill and additional monthly living allowance of RM1,000 for the duration of the programme.

TAR UC-JINBODHI BURSARY

TAR UC JINBODHI Bursary is established to provide bursary to underprivileged students to further their studies in TAR UC.

The scholarship is offered Diploma, Foundation, Bachelor Degree and Postgraduate Programmes.

Minimum Requirement

1. Must be a Malaysian citizen.
2. Students who obtained admission to TAR UC for full time diploma or degree programmes with at least one more year of studies before completing the current programme of studies. (Note: Students enrolled for Jan 2021 Intake are NOT ELIGIBLE)
3. Be from a household who earns a combined income of not more than RM5,000 per month

Value of Award

Full fees charged for the programme of studies (up to max RM10,000 per annum, up to a max of RM30,000 per recipient for the full programme of study).
