The PhD program offered in the School of Science enables students to complete extensive, independent research (100,000 words). Postgraduate science students have access to internationally renowned research centres and can develop close professional relationships with local industry and government. As a doctoral candidate, you will be supported by a minimum of two supervisors throughout your candidature. Under their guidance, you will write and submit a thesis that represents a significant contribution to the body of knowledge or understanding of your field of research.
To apply for the PhD program in the School of Science, you must have completed a degree with honours 1 (first-class) or 2A (upper second class) in a relevant research area.
Throughout the year, subject to availability of supervision
Science graduates gain employment in genetic engineering, agricultural support, pharmaceutical science, banking and finance, environmental consulting, hospitals, medical institutes, mining, petroleum, engineering, research, and the wine and food industries.
All fees are in RM (Ringgit Malaysia) currency unless stated otherwise.
