In the face of uncertainties about job stability, increased living expenses and dwindling resources, one should consider the fact that going back to school is a good idea. WOU is an Open Distance Learning (ODL) institution: students do not need to quit their jobs in order to study. They can upgrade themselves and boost their careers by equipping themselves with new knowledge and a degree. A WOU degree! Malaysian working adults out there who may be in despair during these trying times and who think their life may be spiraling out of control, should think about navigating themselves back into calmer waters by giving WOU a try.

STUDY GRANTS AVAILABLE TO KICK-START YOUR STUDY DREAMS

Mr. Lee Chin Hwa, one of our many WEF Study Grant* recipients. Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Systems and Networks (Hons).

The Wawasan Education Foundation (WEF) Study Grant * is available to needy and deserving students facing financial difficulties or have problems securing the funding required to start their study/career dreams. Offered as a one-off start-up financial assistance to new students, the grant significantly subsidises the cost of the successful candidates’ first semester of studies, completely paying off their first course fees. There is no catch and students are not tied to any contractual bond by the University. If you are interested in becoming one of the recipients, all you will need to do is to enroll as a student and apply for the study grant.

Students must be Malaysian citizens, have SPM or equivalent with a pass in English Language, and a monthly income of not more than RM2,500 if single, or RM3,500 if married. Those with degree qualifications are not eligible to apply.

Continuing students who have achieved academic excellence and eligibility conditions may enjoy the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship to motivate them to continuously perform well in their studies.
