The assessments are done through 2 components:

  1. Continuous assessment based on students’ project papers, assignments and presentations and group

For Participatory Project students are required to prepare a dissertation on the research work. The dissertation will be evaluated by panel of examiners and a viva-voce will be conducted.

Components of the Programme

The programme is fully research based. Component of the programme are not subjects based but are divided according to the research areas / expertise:

Assessment

Examination of the M. Sc Thesis is the main assessment method. The thesis will be examined by the supervisor, an internal examiner and an external examiner. Successful completion of research project and defence of this project is also required for graduation.

Besides the thesis, there will be continuous assessments for monitoring the research progress. The tools used may include proposal presentation, research progress reports, portfolio, journal club presentations, publication and conference participation.

This programme consists of three taught modules : Fundamentals in Humans Anatomy, Human Physiology and Medical Biochemistry [total 15 Core Credits at Malaysian Qualification Framework (MQF) Level 6]. The Foundation Programme is optional for those whose entry qualification is MBBS, BDS, B.Pharma or Biomedicine; candidates whose primary qualification is not one of the above degrees must undergo this programme. There is an examination at the end of this Foundation Programme.

Assessment

Continuous assessment will be done through the assessment of interim presentation of projects work. The final assessment and recommendation for graduation is primarily based on the evaluation of the candidate’s report of research projects and his/her defence of this projects.

Course Description

The Master of Pharmacy (Clinical Pharmacy) programme in AIMST University is tailored to fortify students in order to enhance their skills in evidence-based practice, rationale use of medications, practice-based research and provision of top-notch clinical pharmacy services.

Core clinical pharmacy subjects are the fulcrum of the programme in conjunction with the training. Written and oral communication skills; conducting practice-based research with a thesis are the hallmarks of this programme.
