Overview
The Management Centre offers a full-time and part-time Master of
Management programme in response to the needs of the nation
for well-trained managers. The main purpose of the programme is
to develop potential executives for higher managerial posts who will
positively infl uence organisations through high ethical standards
and better management skills. The programme will provide rigorous
training and experiential learning that emphasises the development of
managerial skills suitable for a wide range of organisations.
Students are required to complete 11 core courses. Part-time
students are required to decide in the fourth semester to opt for the
project paper (6 credit hours) or to take 2 elective courses in lieu of
the project paper. Full-time students need to decide on this in their
second semester.
The project paper will be in the area of management, and will be
supervised by a member of the teaching faculty. Students will be
expected to submit a short written proposal of their intended research
topic towards the end of the fourth semester. The final project paper
will be due for submission at the end of the final semester or a
subsequent date as determined by the Project Paper Committee.
Course Structure (Full-time)
The total duration of study is 12 months or 3 semesters. Each semester
has a duration of 12 weeks. There will be three such semesters within
an academic year. Students are expected to take 4 courses per
semester in the first 2 semesters. In the final semester, students are
required to take 3 core courses and they have the option to either
complete a project paper (6 credit hours) or to take 2 elective courses
in lieu of the project paper.
The project paper will be in the area of management, and will be
supervised by a member of the teaching faculty.

Course Structure (Part-time)
The programme comprises 6 semesters spanning 24 months to be
covered on a part-time basis. Each semester will be 12 weeks long
and there will be 3 such semesters in a calendar year. Students will
typically take up 2 courses per semester and 1 course in the final
semester. Students are required to complete 11 core courses. In the
fourth semester, they can decide to either complete a dissertation (6
credit hours) or to take 2 elective courses in lieu of the dissertation.
The dissertation will be in the area of management, and will be
supervised by a member of the teaching faculty. Students will be
expected to submit a short written proposal of their intended research
topic towards the end of the fourth semester. The final dissertation will
be due for submission at the end of the final semester or a subsequent
date as determined by the Project Paper Committee.

Admission Requirements
- A good bachelor’s degree from IIUM or any other institution of higher learning approved by the University Senate. A professional qualification which is certified equivalent to a degree under Malaysian laws and approved by the University Senate can also be considered.
- Work experience in a management or executive position would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in the English language (where necessary, candidates may be required to sit for an English language proficiency test).
- A minimum score of 550 (PBT-TOEFL), 213 (CBT-TOEFL), 6.0 (IELTS) or 6.0 (EPT) is required for international applicants.

MMgt - Graduation Requirements
All students must complete 11 core courses (33 credit hours) and
they can choose to write a project paper (6 credit hours) or to take
2 elective courses in lieu of the project paper. To be eligible for
graduation, students have to complete 39 credit hours.
