It involves applying the principles and practices of selling and interacting with clients, managing stock, merchandising, pricing, distribution, developing marketing strategies, identifying consumer needs and developing strategies to fulfill them.

The aim of this field is to develop an understanding of the theories of buying and selling goods and services, marketing theories, product development, the development of strategic marketing plans, and consumer behaviour.
