In its commitment to provide highly focused professionally driven programmes, TAR UC is well recognised in producing outstanding high achievers who excel in various professional examinations. Recent inductees of TAR UC’s hall of excellence are Cheong Chun Fai who emerged as the third top Malaysian Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (‘ACCA’) Affiliate for the ACCA September 2016 Examination and Chin Jo Han who won the Yayasan Sime Darby Prize for the best paper in Corporate Governance in the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (‘ICSA’) International Qualifying Scheme (‘IQS’) Professional Part 2, June 2016 Examination.

Cheong Chun Fai who completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in TAR UC was very happy upon knowing his achievement. He attributed his success to the credibility of TAR UC in providing excellent professional business education. “I honestly did not expect to achieve this result as I always thought that the ACCA papers were very tough and it would be difficult to pass all papers in one attempt. I believe it was less taxing for me as I only needed to focus on the 5 professional level papers as my Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) enabled me to be given exemptions from 9 papers of the ACCA Fundamentals," he explained.

The high achiever who is currently working in PwC as a Tax Associate conceded that the path towards his success was challenging for him. “It was no walk in the park for me in my preparation for the examination as there were many chapters that I needed to study. Looking back, I have to thank my helpful and committed lecturers who not only taught me but they constantly guided me to clear any doubts that I had and they were a great source of encouragement. Besides this, as TAR UC’s library is well-equipped with all the relevant reading materials including past year question papers, I took the opportunity to practise answering many past year question papers within the stipulated time following the actual examination. I also frequented the library to do my revision as the environment was very conducive to study and do revision,” he continued.

Graduated from TAR UC with a Bachelor of Corporate Administration (Hons), Chin Jo Han on the other hand was granted exemptions from all 8 papers of the Professional Diploma in Corporate Administration (‘PDCA’) programme of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (‘MAICSA’) and all 4 papers of the ICSA IQS Professional Part 1, thus providing him total exemptions from 12 out of 16 papers in the ICSA examination. He sat for the IQS Professional Part 2 of the ICSA examination in year 3 of his bachelor degree programme where he won the Yayasan Sime Darby Prize for the best paper in Corporate Governance. Jo Han is currently working in Ernst & Young Malaysia as a Tax Consultant.“My study experience in TAR UC helped instilled in me important skillsets that have prepared me to join the workforce such as time management, team work, critical thinking and communication skills.Furthermore, as I have been assimilated into the culture in TAR UC to always strive for excellence in everything I do, I am 2017_01_05_1483586145_02.jpg confident in handling the challenges at work to the best of my abilities.”

“Having said this, I am truly grateful to TAR UC for not only providing me with exceptional quality of education that leads to achieving relevant and important professional qualification, but also instilling in me the drive to always aim for greater heights. This would be very useful for me as I work towards achieving my ambition of becoming an entrepreneur in the future,” he shared.

The Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) programme at TAR UC incorporates the Internally Assessed ACCA Fundamentals (Skills Module) programme for all 9 modules of ACCA Fundamentals and TAR UC is the only institution in the world approved by ACCA to run the Internally Assessed ACCA Fundamentals (Skills Module) programme. Apart from this, TAR UC is also ACCA’s Platinum Approved Learning Partner, putting the University College in the world’s top 5% of ACCA tuition providers.

On the other hand, TAR UC’s Bachelor of Corporate Administration (Hons) programme is the pathway for students to obtain a worldwide recognised professional qualification from ICSA where final year students of the said bachelor degree programme will be prepared to sit for the IQS Professional Part 2 of the ICSA examination.
