SEGi Step Programme To Give Student Proper Footing In Their Dream Careers

PETALING JAYA - The SEGi Career Office at SEGi University, Kota Damansara, Selangor, launched the start of a new learning experience for SEGi students with the SEGi Talent Enhancement Programme (STEP).

Many would agree that the purpose of pursuing higher education is to gain the knowledge needed to accomplish one’s dream career. Therefore, the role of universities is to prepare graduates for a successful career, and not just a job. Thus, SEGi provides STEP to specially selected students with an edge upon graduation. Upon completion of the STEP programme, graduates are ready to be outstanding employees at the workplace, equipped with relevant training and experience similar to a management training programme. The programme is supported by the world-renowned human resource consulting firm, Manpower.

To date, 14 students from various faculties have been selected to be part of the STEP programme. They will be undergoing the Birkman Assesment, which identifies a person’s passions, behaviours, motivation and interests, a pre-language and post-language assessment, leadership skills and also attend workshops on the various challenges they may face at the workplace.

The aim of the SEGi Career Office is to increase the quantity and quality of employment among students. It has formed partnerships with various corporations under its Valued Corporate Partnership (VCP) programme to provide competent and trustworthy employees to its graduates. The SEGi Career Office also aims to be part of recruiting and retaining talents at the workplace and work with employers on ways to develop both their current and future employees.
