Five exemplary Malaysian students have been selected as the IACT College IMPOSSIBLE Scholarship winners recently. These students were chosen through a rigorous application review and interview process, based on their academic performance, leadership and creativity potential.

The IMPOSSIBLE Scholarship is one of the recent efforts of the IACT College’s #PROJECTIMPOSSIBLE campaign where successful applicants receive up to 100% tuition fee waiver for stipulated tertiary programmes conducted at IACT College. Each scholar will also be guaranteed internship placement with a world-class company throughout his or her college education and will simultaneously be considered a full-time employment upon graduation.

One of the scholarship winners Justin Wong Zhe Xuan shared his unique experience in the IMPOSSIBLE Scholarship selection process, “It was refreshing to experience a group interview as we could realise how important it is to work together as a team even though we just met. Although, we had little time to get to know one another and the challenge to make myself stand out, it has taught me a great life lesson – you can never do it alone to succeed.” Justin is now pursuing BA (Hons) Media, Culture & Communication at IACT College; he describes the College as the best institution to study the creative communication programmes due to its extensive industry links. “It has wide connections within the creative communication industry and the programmes are taught by experienced lecturers,” he said.

For Pong Qui Wu, receiving the scholarship means being able to study at a college he personally defines as “most caring, motivating and helpful” compared to other colleges. “It’s the people that make the difference! You can see great love among the staff.” The future media producer adds, “Getting the scholarship was challenging as the toughest part was to demonstrate teamwork, managing your pride yet to ensure that setting yourself apart from the rest.”

“IACT College was my first choice as I was attracted to the project-based learning teaching method that gives students the opportunity to work on class projects with top-tier multinational companies.” said winner Lim Swee Yee. Team building skills were being tested during the selection process where it is completely unrelated to her academic achievement. “I realized that to compete positively was not about winning but about leveraging on each other’s skills and knowledge on the same platform.” She adds, “The ‘I’ becomes a ‘we’ and we didn’t mind sharing whatever resources we had so we all could shine as a team, not as individuals.”

Aside from the three scholarship winners, Lim Ee Yeng and Teresa Tan Chin Yun also proved themselves to be worthy winners of the scholarship by demonstrating not just scholastic success but also outstanding leadership qualities and team spirit.

For those who are interested in applying for a scholarship, the IACT College is currently accepting applications for the Top Achiever’s Scholarship for its October intake. The scholarships are available for STPM, Pre-U, Foundation, Diploma or equivalent students wishing to pursue full-time degree programmes at IACT College. Successful scholarship applicants will receive up to 50% tuition fee waiver for stipulated tertiary programmes conducted at IACT College (with the applied terms and condition).
