Rescheduling of Commencement Date for TAR UC May 2020 Intakes

In support of the ongoing Government’s efforts to contain the Covid-19 pandemic and in the best interests of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’) students and staff, we have rescheduled the commencement date of the May 2020 Intakes. The following table shows the original commencement dates and the new commencement dates:

With the current uncertainties, we have decided to conduct the Orientation and deliver the courses offered in the May/June 2020 Semester via e-learning platforms until such time when the campus is open and we are allowed to conduct face-to-face delivery. We strongly believe that the e-Orientation and online teaching-learning-assessment is the most viable option in the prevailing situation. We will continue to monitor the situation and take reasonable appropriate precautionary measures to safeguard the well-being of our staff and students. Their health, safety and well-being remain our top priority.

To access the e-Orientation programme, new students are required to login the Student Intranet at www.tarc.edu.my using their Student ID. The Student ID is given upon registration as a Student.

To participate in online learning for the courses offered in their programme of study in the May/June 2020 Semester, new students are required to login the Google Classroom using their TAR UC Google account. The TAR UC Google account is given upon registration as a Student.

Guidance and lecturers' support on how to study online are also made available for students' reference in the Student Intranet.

In the meantime, prospective students can still send in applications online at www.tarc.edu.my. Should prospective students and parents have specific enquiries on application and intakes, they can still reach us via email or mobile and the list of contact details is as per attached herewith. Alternatively, the contact details are also uploaded on TAR UC official website at www.tarc.edu.my

Given the current economic uncertainty in Malaysia, prospective students will find comfort that TAR UC is offering a new Covid-19 Instalment Plan which is designed to alleviate their financial burden when pursuing their tertiary education. This instalment plan, specifically offered to new TAR UC students enrolling in the May/June 2020 semester, is intended to bring financial relief by providing greater flexibility for the first semester fee instalment plan. Students can make instalment payments in three tranches, with the first upfront payment amount as low as RM265. All eligible students will be offered the Covid-19 Instalment Plan automatically upon receiving offer of admission. This plan is available to new full-time Malaysian students in the May/June 2020 semester who have been given offers of admission into Foundation, A Level, Diploma and Bachelor Degree programmes.

In addition, TAR UC also offers Merit Scholarship to students with excellent academic results. Qualified prospective students will be automatically awarded the Merit scholarship up to 100% waiver of tuition fees. Merit scholarship is open for students applying for Foundation, A Level, Diploma and Bachelor Degree programmes. Prospective students will be relieved to know that TAR UC also provides Interest-free revolving student loans for financially needy and deserving students. Student loans are open for full-time TAR UC students who are pursuing Foundation, Diploma and Bachelor Degree programmes.
