This programme aims to enhance the ability of teachers to teach English as a second language. Graduates will be able to master the knowledge of pedagogical effectively and able to think creatively as well as critically to solve problems related to learning English. The program will cover areas of Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Phonetics and Phonology, Listening and Speaking Skill, Writing, TESL Methodology, Language Assessment, Reading, Grammar, Computer Assisted Language Learning, English Literature, Materials Development and adaptation and Reflection on Teaching and Learning ESL.

• Passed Sijil Tinggi pelajaran Malaysia (STPM)/A-Level with a pass in two (2) subjects or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR

• Passed Foundation/Matriculation/Pre-University with minimum CGPA 2.00; OR

• Passed Diploma from any Higher Learning Institution recognized by the Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a credit in English; OR

• Passed International Baccalaureate (IB) with minimum 24 points; OR

• Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government
