B.A. (Hons) Multimedia

Course Overview

The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Creative Multimedia is a 3-year programme. Graduates with Diploma in Multimedia will get credit transfer for the first year. Students will learn the basics of multimedia, fundamentals of design, programming, drawing and scriptwriting. Part of the curriculum includes hands-on learning in using digital media such as animation, modelling, instructional design, advanced web design, creative visuals and visual effects. In the final year, students will get to learn 3D animation, dynamic web development, multimedia production and develop their own project.

Entry Requirements

• STPM (2 principal passes) including General Studies
  
• Diploma, A-Level or any equivalent qualifications including Foundation or Matriculation
  
• Diploma in Creative Multimedia or equivalent with min CGPA 2.5
  
• Pass in Diploma in Vocational and Technical or equivalent with min CGPA 2.0
  
• Other equivalent qualifications recognized by Government of Malaysia

Career Prospects

Multimedia has numerous application areas, including entertainment, education, commerce, engineering, medicine and scientific research. It is a fast growing field and experts in it are in high demand. There is a need for people with the right technical and software development skills to work hand in hand with creative designers to deliver high quality multimedia productions. Career opportunities exist in areas such as website design and development, multimedia information editing and management, the Internet and e-commerce. Potential employers include broadcast organisations, media production companies, website designers and indeed any company that maintains a significant web presence.
