The general objective of the Bachelor of Marketing (BM) programme is to produce graduates that would satisfy the country’s demand for a qualified and trained workforce with marketing knowledge and skills at sub-professional level. The programme is planned to develop in students the ability to effectively manage a wide range of local and international marketing issues and challenges using appropriate marketing concepts, tools and skills.
The programme is to develop students’ knowledge, skills, capabilities and attitudes in marketing issues and concepts. It is also designed to advance the qualifications needed to increase their income and marketability in today’s job market.
Normal Entry
i. A pass in STPM with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) in any 2 subject, and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level, or any equivalent qualification; OR
ii. A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, and pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level; OR
iii. Any qualifications equivalent to Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, MQF); OR
iv. Matriculation / Foundation qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, or any equivalent qualification.
Note: The requirement to pass Mathematics and English subjects at SPM level for candidate in category (i) and (ii) can be waived should the qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/ higher achievement.
APEL entry
• Malaysian; and
• Candidate must be 21 years old and above in the year of application being made; and
• Have previous working experience/learning relevant to the field applied; and
• Pass APEL Assessment for Bachelor Degree (conducted by OUM).
English competency requirement for international students: Minimum IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
