The course consists of 5 years of four-part integrated program namely Human, Cell, Community, and Personal and Professional Development. Teaching and learning are based on the body system rather than the traditional separation of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and microbiology. The integrated medical program covers the cardiovascular system, digestive system and others, where all the basic science related to medicine and clinical discipline is involved.

This curriculum emphasizes student learning based on the early introduction of clinical experience. Community exposure and public health as well as emphasis on behavioral science, communication skills and professional development are included in the curriculum. Research methodology and experience are still an important component of the curriculum, while comprehensive clinical teaching ensures that students have sufficient clinical experience to become knowledgeable and skilled doctors.

Doctors are required to undergo housemanship for two years after completing medical degree. Doctors will be eligible for full registration with MPM by undergoing pre-registration training of Medical Officers given by the Government of Malaysia at Government Hospital for 3 years before being allowed to work with a private agency. Upon successful completion of pre-registration training, doctors will be supervised in any hospital such as government hospitals, district hospitals, government clinics or private clinics.
