Background of Institution

History
INTI College Sarawak was set up by a group of educationists, on 1st October 1991. Since its humble beginnings in the shoplots at Palm Road (now Jalan Tun Zaidi Adruce) with only 187 students, the college has grown by leaps and bounds to its current student population of 2,000. It now boasts a magnificent purpose-built campus at Jalan Stampin Timur which was completed in 1998.

To provide better educational opportunities, the college offers a broad range of academic and professional programmes especially at the tertiary level to meet the needs of the many students from Malaysia as well as from neighbouring countries in the region.

INTI College is registered under the Education Act 1961 and all programmes are approved by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

INTI College Sarawak was accorded the much-coveted Multimedia Super Corridor status on Oct 1, 2000. The college is the first institution in Sabah and Sarawak to earn the award.

Mission
INTI's mission is to provide quality education through credit transfer and advanced standing programmes with emphasis on saving time and money. The college uses all its available resources to offer various programmes, and to ensure their quality. Effective counselling, guidance and other educational support services are available to enrich every student's intellectual, cultural and social life within the College.

Philosophy
INTI also strongly believes that it has an important role to play in the human resource development of this country. As such, INTI provides a caring and conducive environment so as to inculcate in its students a POSITIVE and PROGGRESSIVE attitude thus leading to PRODUCTIVE effort. It adopts a holistic effort to learning and training while widening the intellectual horizons of its students.
