About us

Infrastucture University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL)

Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) is transforming into a modern university within the new education township at De Centrum City. With a welcoming environment, the existing university campus will be upgraded with green features added. It will continue to develop in stages where the township will be built around the university. The development for residences, supportive businesses and the conveniences will grow by phase. The new education township promotes vehicle-free community concept where amenities can be enjoyed within walking distance.


Programme outline

With its university status, IUKL awards its own Foundation, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and PhD programmes.

All of IUKL‘s programmes have been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and the majority of the programmes have been fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Internationally, IUKL is also certified with ISO 9001:2008 and accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) – an assurance of commitment to quality management and education. Besides that, IUKL is also an approved MSC status institution.

Three faculties have been set up:

  • Faculty of Engineering, Science & Technology

  • Faculty of Business, Information & Human Sciences

Student support services

Counselling Services

Counselling is a helping process in which a counsellor meets with you, aiming to enhance your self-understanding and personal development to empower you to cope with your problems and stress to facilitate your adjustment to life and assist you in making healthy life changes. The first meeting with a counsellor will be for a consultation to determine what services will be most helpful to you. It will be necessary to schedule a regular time to meet with a counsellor depending on whatever goals have been set and your individual needs. The counsellor will assist you in as timely a manner as possible. Successful outcomes of the session depend on your courage and willingness to make a change. The counsellor will work with you to achieve your goals. Of course, all decisions are in your hands. Each session will begin at an appointed time and last for about 45 minutes.

Clubs & Societies

Infrastucture University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL)

The Student Affairs Division provides avenues for students to explore their interests with practical experience through activities organised throughout the year. There are more than 40 clubs and societies at IUKL. Participation in the clubs and socities provides hands-on experience for leadership and character development.

IUKL’s wide range of academic and professional courses are conducted in state of the art studios, laboratories and workshops, equipped with the latest technology and equipment to enhance your learning experience, whether you are studying engineering, architecture, computing, business, language or science.

Career Development

The main aim of the IUKL Career Development unit is to help our students to identify and choose the best career options available to them. The process of career planning and development starts as early as when the student begins their programme with IUKL.

We act as a liaison between students, employers and various faculties within the University to establish and facilitate employment opportunities. We also support, train and lead students and our Alumni as they build their careers.

Internship

Infrastucture University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL)

An internship is a brief period of on-the-job training in an organization. The main objective of internships is to educate and allow students to have the opportunity to acquire first-hand experience in the real working world while developing professional skills. Students will acquire knowledge of the continuously evolving world of work.

Internship is offered to Bachelor and Diploma students to fulfil the partial requirement of the particular degree or diploma and is offered in the final year of study, subject to the programme requirements.

Internships may take place in firms, public and private institutions, professional studios, international organizations, diplomatic agencies, cultural institutions and other organizations.

Recognition and accreditation

Accreditation

The university’s programmes are recognised and accredited by professional bodies locally and abroad. The programmes are approved by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and MQA. Three of the university’s degree programmes, the Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons), Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) and the Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (Hons) are recognised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and the Washington Accord, an international agreement among bodies responsible for accrediting engineering degree programmes.

Professional Recognition

IUKL also has professional recognition from various local and international professional bodies – Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), Land Surveyors Board (LJT), Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), CISCO, International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), among others. Access to international education is also provided through the cooperation between IUKL and several international universities in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, China, The Netherlands and Germany.
