Student Testimonials
![]() Lidya Octavia Yusmanto, IndonesiaB.A. (Hons.) Mass Communication, 3 Years UCSI University is a melting pot for different cultures to mix and learn about each other. These people are not only from Asia but also from European, Middle Eastern and African countries like Russia, Iran and Nigeria. So far, I have met people of different cultures and learned about their ways of life and the way things are done in their country such their annual festivals and other ceremonies. Apart from that, we also have a diversified range of lecturers from countries like Singapore, Iran and Indonesia. They are very friendly and helpful. Personally, I’ve gained more experience by participating and helping out in events organised by the clubs and associations. Campus life is incomplete without the extracurricular activities and it will definitely prove to be helpful when my future career starts. |
|
||
![]() Navid Gazerani, IranB.A. (Hons.) in Computing, 3 Years UCSI University is the only university in KL which offers a variety of different courses. One of the reasons I chose this University is because you can find different cultures from different countries and nations. This gives me an opportunity to learn different cultures from different countries. The relationship among UCSI University students and Student Affairs staff was the best I had experienced in my University life. I learned a lot from them through organising events. I strongly believe that UCSI University can lead me to a bright future. |
|
||
Mahendra Sidik, IndonesiaMasters in Logistics Management I chose this course because it is a one-year Masters programme and is incorporated with the Co-Op education programme (internship). This means that I can work and be involved directly in the industry. At the same time, I could also attend lectures in the evening at the university after my Co-Op. I also like the programme because it is well-organised and there is a dedicated administrative offi cer co-ordinating the programme. We can always obtain any required assistance from the officer concerning our studies. Besides this, I also like the food in Malaysia. |

![]() Ha Thi Huyen Trang, VietnamBusiness Information System, 2nd year Malaysia is beautiful and Malaysians are friendly. If my country people had the chance to travel, they should visit Malaysia to feel for themselves how beautiful this country is. Vietnamese people like to say Khi ta o chi la noi dat o, khi ta di dat bong hoa tam hon, which means that a place is just to stay in until it is time to leave, and then it becomes your soul. Now that I will be leaving Malaysia soon, I really understand what that means! |

Being in Kuala Lumpur is nothing like I’ve seen in my country! I like the hot weather all year round, and enjoy the nature, as well as the metropolitan aspects of the city - the buildings, trains and definitely the cheerful people. |

![]() Grace Onyango, KenyaB.Eng Electrical & Electronics Engineering, 3 Years I chose to study in Malaysia because it is definitely a cheaper alternative than to study at other common academic destinations like the UK or the US. I am also curious to explore the experience of studying in Asia. Now that I’m here, I truly appreciate the mix of cultures, the easy-going and laid back attitude of Malaysians and generally, they are very friendly and hospitable people. I chose UCSI because I met one of the College’s representatives at an educational fair in Nairobi and the academic options here are more attractive than others. |

Computing for Business, 3 Years Studying and living in Malaysia, within an environment amidst a plethora of colourful people from different ethnic origins has provided me with the opportunity to gain a greater insight on the different cultural backgrounds. UCSI is very much like a little global village! There are international students from so many different countries - Vietnam, Pakistan, China, Mauritius, Maldives, and even from Saudi Arabia! The programmes on offer are excellent alternatives to studying abroad in other countries. |

![]() Mr. Banda Sene, KenyaMechanical Engineering I found the e-learning facilities in campus (Sedaya International College is an e-campus) very useful. It is practical and easy to use because it is there 24 hours and I can access it at night. I study at night because there are extra-curricular activities like basketball, student council meetings and movies on Friday during the day. Besides, all lecture notes, tutorials, the timetable… everything, they are all there. The staff, too, are approachable, compared to back in my school. The environment is conductive and I had no problem with any lecturer. I didn’t come under any academic sanction, and the college has sports facilities like basketball courts and the gymnasium, which I am addicted to. I like basketball and the gym! The social life here is great. I met people from different cultures, and they have given me an insight into other ways of life. I made numerous friends. When I walk into the college lobby, it is like I know everybody!One of the most memorable events of college life was the overnight basketball tournament, which was held recently. It was from 7pm to 11am. We didn’t sleep. There was only an hour break in between games. This was the first time I heard of it. Never heard anything like it! I felt good!The most important thing I’ll take away with me from Sedaya International College is my friendship and the people who respect me in a big way. I expected to be discriminated against in some way here but it is not happening. |

Originally, I had plans to study at a British university. However, I did not want to "burden" my family financially. My dream of studying in the UK was realised when I got to know about Sedaya College's joint program in Engineering with the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, UK. In this way, I am able to save a substantial sum of money. I will proceed to this UK University in the final year.(Explanatory note: 3+0 programme is a foreign university degree programme whereby students can complete the entire course in Malaysia" |

As a student from the Music department, I must say that the facilities such as the practice rooms are good. The lecture rooms are cosy. The lecturers are excellent at what they do and they are the people I would remember always for bringing me to the level that I am at now.
