Built on the principles of audacity, perseverance, integrity and excellence, UCSI University is a leading institution of higher learning with campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Springhill (Port Dickson) and Kuching, Malaysia. Our faculties, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to meet student needs offer a wide spectrum of academic programmes, ranging from Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering and Architecture to Music, Multimedia, Education, Liberal Arts and Hospitality.

UCSI University: 37 years and counting

UCSI University is a vibrant community of learning and scholarship. At present, more than 12,000 students study at the University. Over the years, students from 110 different countries have studied at UCSI University, making the campus a melting pot of culture and diversity. As one of Malaysia’s first private universities, UCSI University has long impacted the national higher education landscape and the University continues to do so with its wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The University’s academic staff are at the forefront of their disciplines and their views are highly sought after on major issues; from business to political science. Many of our academics have extensive experience working overseas and some play advisory roles in public bodies and various committees. UCSI University’s strong track record of university-industry engagement has attracted attention from the powers that be and the University is entrusted to reshape Malaysia’s tourism and hospitality industry through education. By leading the Malaysian Centre of Tourism and Hospitality Education – a consortium of Malaysia’s foremost education institutions – that endeavours to equip at least 50% of the industry’s workforce with a diploma or a degree by 2020, UCSI University stands in the nation’s service and that of the global community.

Accomodation

The Accommodation unit of Alumni & Support Services Department is under the care of Student Affairs & Alumni. As management, part of our role is to observe cleanliness and maintenance of the hostel, to establish security and safety in the residential halls, to ensure that integration between the residents is maintained, and that the rules and regulations of the hostel are adhered, to ensure students would enjoy their learning and living at UCSI University.

Objectives

We are committed to provide students:
  • a safe and secure, comfortable and clean living environment
  • the assurance that our residents have opportunities for personal development and growth
  • our understanding and a quick response to the needs of our resident-students collectively and individually
  • the independence of a self-catering accommodation or the more traditional feel of a catered residence

Services

It includes ensuring students enjoy the experience of living in an impressive quality environment. UCSI University offers students a healthy residence with services that support their learning and development process.

Students can opt to either reside in UCSI University's on-campus residential halls or at the off-campus condominium-styled accommodations. We also provide temporary accommodations for our students and guests who are coming for a short stay.

Students Activities and Recreation

SAR provides and enhances the students educational experiences at UCSI University with diverse opportunities for practical experience through co-curricular activities.

These activities provide valuable hands-on experience for leadership and character development through social, cultural, intellectual, recreational, community services and campus governance programmes.

Student Council and Student Clubs

The UCSI Student Council is the student representative organization consisting of members from various majors and backgrounds – all of whom are dedicated to being the voice of the students while acting as a bridge between the students and the university management. Among the many functions of the Student Council, the most important include enhancing students’ rights, opportunities and general experience for each and every student regardless of where they are from. We seek to provide equal opportunities in event organization, the promotion of positive learning and ensuring a comfortable learning environment for all students. We offer guidance and support in any way we can to all students. Please feel free to approach us for any enquiries.

The membership of the Student Council is elected by the student community every year. University-wide recruitment and election campaigns are normally held by aspiring groups to form the next council and votings are done and tabulated in all fairness, without fear or favour.

Youth Beyond Boundaries

Youth Beyond Boundaries (YBB) is a fraternity led by students that turns game-changing ideas into consequential outcomes. The purpose of YBB is to empower UCSI University scholars with holistic leadership development. This initiative has provided students to garner leadership experience through their various involvement under the main focus areas of YBB:

Student Development & Counselling Department (SDCD)

Student Development & Counselling Department (SDCD) focuses on helping students in dealing with the challenges and difficulties in their study journey as well as guiding and empowering them in overcoming challenges.

We aim to cater students’ needs psychologically and in their academic development. We believe every student is a unique individual with unlimited ability to excel and achieve their highest potential for their future. With that, we are here to provide a wide range of counselling services.

Student Welfare Council

The Student Welfare Council (SWC) serves as a platform where all members of the Student Welfare Committee meet and come together to table, address, advice and execute matters pertaining to students, be it academic or administrative in nature.

The SWC reaches out to diverse members in the University to initiate the process of engagement in seeking for different stakeholders’ inputs before putting it into practice and spur good practice in enhancing students’ experience.

The SWC is to report back to the Vice Chancellor through the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni on a quarterly basis.

UCSI University Trust Scholarships

Realise your aspirations with UCSI University Trust Scholarship. We have allocated RM30million in scholarships for prodigious students like you. Scholarships and a Sports Bursary are awarded to deserving Malaysians irrespective of race, religion and creed to pursue their higher education at UCSI University. Scholarships are offered to students at Foundation, A-Levels, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

PTPTN

The PTPTN Education Financing Scheme was established to provide education financing to Malaysian students pursuing studies at local institutions of higher education. This education financing will enable students to partially finance their tuition fees for the duration of their study.

UCSI University Trust Financial Assistance

Open to Malaysian students who come from rural area of Malaysia, low income family, single parent family with low income background, OKU and other similar difficult situations for diploma studies at UCSI University.

Students will be exposed to an enriching academic-learning experience, develop their personal strengths, and be provided with solid industrial training that will equip them for the future. Successful candidate will obtain up to 50% tuition fee waiver. Terms and conditions apply.
